Scheme for HSVP plot holders launched
CM Nayab Singh Saini also launched Vivadon Se Samadhan Scheme to resolve enhancement-related disputes of plot holders of the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran. The scheme will be effective for the next six months. He said the government had previously run similar schemes to resolve disputes, which had benefited over 50,000 people.
Interacting with the media on the occasion, Saini said the government had decided to give farmers a bonus of Rs 2,000 per acre on agricultural and horticultural crops being produced in the state due to adverse weather conditions during kharif-2024. On August 16, 2024, the CM transferred a bonus of Rs 496 crore as the first instalment to the accounts of 5.80 lakh farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
The bonus would be given to all farmers who had registered themselves on Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal. A total amount of Rs 1,380 crore is to be given to the farmers. So far, the payment has been made in two instalments. As part of the third instalment, Rs 580 crore will be transferred to the accounts of the remaining 4.94 lakh farmers in the next 10-15 days.
Saini also launched the distribution of soil health cards — introduced to address delays in the distribution of printed cards that were preventing farmers from utilising recommendations on time. The cards will be directly sent to farmers' mobile numbers through WhatsApp as soon as the results of their soil tests are uploaded to the online portal.
The CM said soil testing was conducted every three years in the state to provide farmers with vital information, including the quantity of seeds required and the appropriate use of fertilisers to boost yields. The quick distribution of the cards would not only increase their usage but also contribute to enhanced productivity and income.
After stating that Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann should not “interfere” in Haryana’s matters and the Vidhan Sabha issue, Saini said the Punjab Government should take concrete steps in the interest of its farmers.
Advising Mann to focus on addressing pressing issues in Punjab, Saini emphasised that misleading statements diverted attention from real concerns. Driven by political motives, the leaders of Punjab had first stopped Haryana's SYL water and were now talking about stopping the Haryana Vidhan Sabha from being built. “People of Punjab share a strong bond with Haryana and want Haryana to get SYL water," he stated.
The CM said while Congress leaders talked extensively, they did not work on the ground. “Resultantly, the farmers are disillusioned with the Congress,” he claimed.
