Govt plan to conduct study rekindles hope of Bahadurgarh metro expansion
The government’s decision to conduct a study exploring the possibility of the expansion of the metro line from Bahadurgarh to Aasoda has rekindled the hope of local people for getting this demand met.

A large number of passengers from Bahadurgarh and nearby areas take the metro route daily to reach their destination in various parts of Delhi for jobs and business. If the metro is expanded till Aasoda, it would not only benefit the passengers but also reduce the load of vehicles in Bahadurgarh and Delhi.
“The decision to conduct the studies for the expansion of the metro line up to Aasoda was taken in recent meeting held between Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Power Minister Manohar Lal in Delhi. The state government had announced in the Budget presented in 2023 to extend the metro line from Bahadurgarh to Aasoda. Following this, a survey has also been conducted to estimate the load of passengers on the line,” said a source.
Sources said the government had decided to conduct a final survey on the basis of possible number of passengers on this line. Under the survey, ground feasibility, other aspects related to this line would also be studied. Thereafter, a detailed project report would be prepared to move ahead.
“The project to extend the metro line to Aasoda will lead to industrial development in Bahadurgarh and its surrounding areas. Not only will industrial investment increase here, new employment opportunities will also be created. The people here will be able to reach Delhi easily,” said the source.
Interestingly, the demand of the metro extension even up to Sampla in Rohtak district remained centre stage in the Lok Sabha elections. Candidates of both main parties — the Congress and the BJP — promised to ensure expansion of the metro line on coming to power. Even in the recently held Assembly elections, the candidates in the fray, too, promised the people to leave no stone unturned to get this demand met.
“The expansion of the metro line up to Aasoda is the need of the hour to facilitate the passengers. They will need not to reach Bahadurgarh and they will be able to easily catch the metro in Aasoda if the project is executed. It will also reduce vehicular load in Bahadurgarh. At present, passengers have to park their vehicles on road in Bahadurgarh town following lack of space in the metro parking lot there. It not only congests the road but also leads to cases of vehicle theft,” said Jitender, a daily passenger.
