Mahendragarh, February 24

Governor Bandaru Dattatreya today inaugurated the three-day 40th State Livestock Exhibition-2024 on the campus of Central University of Haryana (CUH) at Jat Pali village in the district. The programme was presided over by Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Jai Prakash Dalal. On this occasion, the Governor paid homage to Saint Shiromani Ravidas on his birth anniversary.

Addressing the public, he said the state had a special place in the country due to its livestock resources. He said the state government was committed towards the development of the livestock sector. He said due to the efforts made by the government and the hard work of state farmers, there had been a massive increase in the production capacity of animals.

INCREASE IN MILK PRODUCTION

The annual milk production in the state has reached 119.65 lakh tonnes. With per capita milk availability of 1,098 gm, Haryana ranks third in the country after Punjab and Rajasthan. — Bandaru Dattatreya, GOVERNOR

“The annual milk production in the state has reached 119.65 lakh tonnes. With per capita milk availability of 1,098 gm, Haryana ranks third in the country after Punjab and Rajasthan, whereas the national per capita milk availability per day is 459 gm,” he said.

Dattatreya said organising such livestock exhibitions created a sense of competition among the livestock farmers and provided information about advanced and new technologies for dairy farmers.
