Karnal: Gangster Joginder Geong arrested in Philippines

Notorious gangster Joginder Geong, the brother of gangster Surinder Geong from Geong village in Kaithal, has been arrested in the Philippines. He was an accused in several cases registered in different police stations across the region.

Joginder was booked in 16 cases, of which four were related to murder, in Kaithal. He had been arrested in all these cases. A case is still pending against him in a court. His sentence has been stayed. In addition, several other cases have been registered against him in Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan and other districts of Haryana.

Joginder had a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head for his alleged involvement in a murder case in Panipat, said a police official. He entered the world of crime following in the footsteps of Surinder, who was shot dead in an encounter by the Karnal police near Rahra village on April 8, 2017.
