Former, serving Haryana mantris’ wealth increases manifold in 5 yrs
Among the 17 re-contesting former and serving ministers of the Khattar-Saini governments, Anoop Dhanak, Aseem Goyal, Om Prakash Yadav and Mool Chand Sharma have reported the maximum rise in wealth in the past five years.
Dhanak served as a Minister of State for Archaeology and Musuems till Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) was part of the Khattar government. Now, contesting from Uklana (SC) on the BJP ticket, he has declared the assets of Rs 6.59 crore, a rise of about 375 per cent from a mere Rs 1.39 crore in 2019.
Contesting from Ambala City, Goyal, a Minister of State for Transport and Women and Child Development in the Saini government, has reported assets of Rs 20.30 crore in his affidavit, though he had Rs 5.64 crore wealth in 2019. It implies an increase of 260 per cent in his wealth.
Yadav, who served as a Minister of State for Social justice and Empowerment in the Khattar government, was dropped when Saini became the CM in March. Contesting from Narnaul, he has reported a wealth of Rs 4.73 crore, a rise of about 205 per cent from Rs 1.55 crore in 2019.
Sharma, contesting from Ballabhgarh, who served both under Khattar and Saini, has reported movable and immovable assets of Rs 33.51 crore. He had Rs 12.45 crore in 2019. His assets have risen to 169 per cent in the past five years.
Minister of State for Urban Local Bodies Subhash Sudha, contesting from Thanesar, has reported wealth of Rs 9.84 crore, a rise of about 75 per cent from 2019.
Contesting from Jagadhri, Agriculture minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar, who has served both under Khattar and Saini, has reported assets of Rs 7.21 crore, a rise of 67 per cent in wealth.
Former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala held excise and taxation, public works and revenue and disaster management portfolios for four and a half years in the Khattar government. Seeking re-election from Uchana Kalan, he has reported wealth of Rs 122.58 crore in his affidavit, a rise of close to 64 per cent from 2019.
Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in as CM on March 12. Contesting from Ladwa, he has reported assets of Rs 5.81 crore, including Rs 4.85 crore of properties. While contesting from the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat in 2019, he reported wealth of Rs 3.58 crore. This is 62 per cent rise in his wealth.
Minister of State for Irrigation and Water Resources in the Saini government, Abhe Singh Yadav, has reported assets of Rs 14.92 crore, a rise of 56 per cent in the past five years, while former Development and Panchayat Minister Devender Singh Babli, contesting from Tohana on the BJP ticket, has revealed assets of Rs 54.94 crore, an increase of over 52 per cent since 2019.
Finance Minister Jai Prakash Dalal has served both under Khattar and Saini. He had reported assets of Rs 76.76 crore in 2019 which grew to Rs 116.51 crore in last five years, a rise of close to 52 per cent.
However, former Power Minister Ranjit Singh, who had served both under Khattar and Saini, has reflected dip in his assets by 9 per cent as they fell to Rs 24.03 crore. Former Home Minister Anil Vij, who has lowest wealth among all re-contesting ministers at Rs 1.50 crore reflected a dip in his movable assets.
Interestingly, Health Minister Kamal Gupta has no properties but has movable assets of Rs 4.43 crore. He has reported massage chair and a double barrel gun among assets and so does Ranjit Singh, who revealed four buffaloes, three cows, a .12 bore gun and .38 bore revolver.
Aseem Goyal has reported Astra pistol, Abhe Singh Yadav has a Webley revolver, and Om Prakash Yadav has a .32 bore revolver. Babli and his wife have reported a .12 bore gun and rifle respectively. Dhanak has too reported a revolver and rifle.
