FIR lodged over Cong MP Satpal Brahamachari's fake letter of support for Independent candidate
After an alleged fake letter of Congress MP Satpal Brahamachari, appealing to support an Independent candidate went viral on social media, the police have registered a case against the social media page owner on the complaint of the MP's office incharge at Gohana.
It was alleged that the letter head which went viral on social media had a fake signature of the MP.
Brahamachari’s Gohana office incharge, Mohit Sharma, in his complaint to the city SHO said he received a complaint from the MP’s PA that someone had used his letter head in which a fake appeal to support the Independent candidate Rajbeer Dajhiya was made.
He alleged that the letter said after winning the elections Rajbeer Dahiya would support Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
The complainant further said a story regarding this was also run on the Facebook page of a social media site in Gohana and after the video went viral, the Congress had to clarify it on several platforms.
Following the complaint, Gohana police have registered a case under Sections 175, 196 (1), 318 (4), 353 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police have begun a probe into the matter.
