The Kaithal administration has imposed Section 144, CrPC, prohibiting the assembly of five or more people at a place. Duty magistrates have been appointed to monitor checkpoints on the Haryana-Punjab border, and the ADC has been appointed overall-in-charge.
The DGP visited the Tatiyana checkpoint on the Haryana-Punjab border at Cheeka to review the arrangements.
“Section 144 has been imposed and duty magistrates have been appointed as a preventive measure. These orders will be in force from February 10 until further notice. Any violation will be punishable under Section 188, IPC,” said Kaithal DC Prashant Panwar.
No person would be allowed to enter the district with firearms, swords, axes, machinery, or materials capable of causing damage to public or private properties. The sale of inflammable substances — petrol and diesel — in cans or bottles would also be prohibited. Playing provocative music on vehicles and using DJ or loudspeakers in vehicles would also be prohibited.
Karnal SP Shashank Kumar Sawan said they had constituted four companies, comprising 100 personnel each, and imparted them special training. “We have deployed drones to keep a vigil on anti-social elements,” he said.
The Kaithal SP said they had increased vigil on the Haryana-Punjab border.
