Yamunanagar, July 9

To promote tree plantation in the district, farmers under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKU) will plant 10,000 saplings in Yamunanagar district during the rainy season.

The BKU organised a programme in Unheri village of Radaur subdivision to launch the plantation drive.

Chief guest Aditya Pratap Dabas started the drive by planting a kadam sapling in the village temple. BKS State General Secretary Rambir Singh Chauhan said 150 plants were distributed among farmers. They also pledged to look after the saplings they planted.

“The government is providing saplings free of cost. Everyone must plant more and more saplings to save life and environment on the planet,” the chief guest said.

Pintu Rana, district president of the BKS, said farmers would plant 10,000 saplings in the district in the rainy season.

Unheri village sarpanch Mohit Rana, and farmers Om Prakash, Pradeep Rana, Sher Singh, Neeraj Rana and Sushil Kamboj, among others, were present on the occasion.
