Farmers to launch statewide drive against BJP on Sept 17
Resolving to oppose the BJP in the Assembly elections in the state, the mahapanchayat organised jointly by the Sanyukta Kisan Morcha and trade unions announced the launching of a statewide campaign for exposing the alleged misdeeds of the BJP regime in the last 10 years.
The campaign will be launched on September 17 and village-level kisan mazdoor panchayats will be held across the state by making door-to-door contact with all sections of society. This was decided at a meeting held at the Anaj Mandi in Hisar today. “We are firm on our decision to teach the BJP a lesson in the upcoming Assembly elections,” the mahapanchayat announced. Drawn from all over the state, the mahapanchayat was attended by farmers, workers and agricultural labourers.
The national leaders of the SKM and the trade unions, including Jogender Singh Ugrahan, P Krishna Prasad, Rajan Ksheer Sagar, UR Sindhu and state leaders, the meeting unanimously passed a resolution placed by senior leader Inderjit Singh, stipulating a plan of action for defeating the BJP.
Inderjit Singh said the people, including women who gathered at the meeting displayed their unity based on common issues related to livelihood and social harmony under threat from the divisive and pro- corporate policies of the BJP.
