A delegation of the Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) met CM Nayab Saini in Chandigarh to discuss issues concerning farmers. Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana and Haryana Mining and Geology Minister Krishan Panwar were also present.

BKS state general secretary Rambir Singh Chauhan said the CM assured them that their demands would be addressed. Chauhan highlighted the exploitation of commission agents by contractors during grain lifting and stitching, and urged the government to hand over the responsibility of grain lifting to commission agents.

Farmers also complained about being cheated during the paddy procurement in the name of moisture. They proposed abolishing GST on farm equipment and routing subsidies directly to farmers’ accounts.
