  • Eligible oustees will be allotted flats at Dabua Colony and Bapu Nagar
  • Rs3.70 lakh will be the flat cost with Rs17,000 to be paid as down payment
  • The beneficiaries will have to vacate their houses at Khori colony before the demolition date

Mohammed Salim of the Majdoor Awas Sangharsh Samiti, Khori village, said a comprehensive survey should be undertaken to identify beneficiaries and they should be given a reasonable time to prove their respective claims. The MC Commissioner said the oustees would have to produce voter card, Parivar Pehchan Patra or DHBVN (power) connection papers issued before January 1, 2021, to claim rehabilitation.

A comprehensive survey should be undertaken to identify beneficiaries

Those selected would be allotted flats lying vacant at Dabua Colony and Bapu Nagar, she said. Each flat would cost Rs 3.70 lakh and each allottee would have to pay Rs 17,000 as down payment, followed by monthly instalments of Rs 2,500.

Those selected would get Rs 2,000 per month towards rent for six months as the flats were under repair and not yet ready for possession. The MC has around 2,600 flats at its disposal.

Mittal chaired a joint meeting involving Deputy Commissioner Yashpal Yadav and the DCP this evening and held a discussion with Majdoor Awas Sangharsh Samiti representatives.
