Expedite work on C&D waste processing plant: Chief Secy
While presiding over a coordination meeting of various departments and local bodies to discuss major issues in Gurugram city on Tuesday, Chief Secretary of Haryana Vivek Joshi asked the officials concerned to expedite the work on the construction and demolition (C&D) waste processing plant.
He asked them to deploy additional labour and hire more contractors to complete the work on time.
Aiming to ensure a clean state, he told officials to complete the process of transfer of land for a new solid waste processing facility within 15 days. The tenders for processing of approximately 14 lakh MT of legacy waste were already under approval stage, he said.
For better utilisation of resources, an independent solid and C&D waste management cell would be created in Gurugram, he said, adding that this cell would comprise a joint commissioner, executive engineers, assistant engineers and sanitary inspectors of the local civic body.
Joshi asked officials to hire new manpower wherever required so that there was no delay in completion of the development projects in the city.
The Chief Secretary emphasised that waterlogging problem on NH-48 near Narsinghpur village needed to be resolved before the advent of the rainy season. For this, the officials concerned should actively engage with informed citizens, take their suggestions and implement their suggestions on the ground. The public-spirited citizens of Gurugram needed to be made a part of grievance-redressal process, he added.
