Hisar Congress MP Jai Prakash has alleged that electronic voting machine (EVM) tampering and the use of money power contributed to the party’s defeat in the recent Haryana Assembly elections. However, he refused to comment on allegations of sabotage levelled against him by Congress candidate Ram Niwas Ghorela from the Barwala Assembly segment.

Speaking to the media during his visit to Hisar, the MP said, “It’s an internal matter of the party. I am not into who is saying what. The party’s fact-finding committee has already started its work.” This response came after Ghorela, along with Congress candidates Ram Niwas Rara from Hisar and Anil Maan from Nalwa, accused certain Congress leaders of working against them during the election campaign.

Ghorela has named Jai Prakash, his brother Randhir Singh, and others in his allegations of sabotage. Both Rara and Maan also claimed to have submitted names and evidence of party leaders who they believe undermined their campaigns to the fact-finding committee. Despite this, Jai Prakash maintained that he would not comment on the issue, reiterating that the committee’s report will be submitted to the party high command.

Additionally, he pointed out irregularities in vote counting in 14 constituencies, demanding the return of the ballot paper system for future elections. He also criticised the newly formed BJP government, stating, “Even after 12 days, the newly elected MLAs have not been administered the oath in the Assembly,” and claimed the Haryana Government was being controlled from Delhi.
