Launching a blistering attack on the Congress, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said Congress leaders had made their intention clear before the Assembly poll by making statements publicly that government jobs would be given on the basis of ‘parchi’ (slip) if the Congress comes to power.

Saini also accused the Congress leaders of misleading the people over ‘Agniveer’ scheme stating that every Agniveer would be given jobs in the state. They would also be given interest-free loans if they want to do business, he claimed.

“The Congress has got trapped in its own web over the job issue. Its leaders have sold the future of the youth even before coming to power. They are openly saying that writing roll numbers on a slip is sufficient to get jobs in the Congress regime. Even, they are talking about fixing their job quota. It is clear now that the Congress has prepared a complete plan to sell jobs,” said Saini while addressing a poll meeting here today in favour of BJP candidate Manish Grover.

The CM claimed jobs were given on the basis of merit during the BJP regime in the past decade. The number of jobs was also almost double of the previous Congress government if compared.

“As per official figures, a total 86,067 youth were given jobs during the Congress regime from 2005 to 2014 while the BJP provided jobs to 1,43,000 youth during its tenure from 2014 to 2024. The big difference is that youth were given jobs on ‘parchi-kharchi’ basis during the Congress regime while the BJP ensured jobs on merit basis to deserving candidates,” said Saini.
