The electoral battle is getting tough by the day in the Samalkha Assembly constituency. A fierce contest is likely between the BJP and Congress, with former Independent MLA Ravinder Machroli also in the fray again as Independent candidate, making the contest interesting.

Getting victory is a dream of the BJP here. The Congress has won this seat five times out of a total 13 Assembly elections, but the BJP even didn’t open its account from here.

The BJP has fielded Manmohan Bhadana, son of former minister Kartar Singh Bhadana, from here and he is giving a tough time to the Congress candidate and outgoing MLA Dharam Singh Chhoker.

Bhadana said he was not new to Samalkha and knew all small and big problems of Samalkha and the villages here. Promising to resolve all these problems, Bhadana said everyone could meet him directly. Meanwhile, Congress candidate and outgoing MLA Dharam Singh Chhoker also held several rounds of various villages to get the support of the people.

On Sunday, Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda addressed a public rally in the Biholi grain market in support of Chhokker.

Deepender Hooda attacked the BJP and said that it had lied to the people of Haryana in 2014 and 2019, but now people had decided to settle scores with the BJP through the power of their votes.
