ED raids premises of Congress, INLD leaders in Bhiwani, Hisar

Teams of Enforcement Directorate (ED) today raided the premises of contractors and other persons involved in the mining business, including Congress and INLD leaders, in Bhiwani and Hisar districts. The raids at the establishments of mining contractors in Bhiwani and Tosham began around 6 am.

An eight-member team, comprising ED officials and CRPF personnel, raided the residence of mining contractor and local Congress leader Master Satbir Ratera in Sector 13 of Bhiwani. “The action is politically motivated,” said Ratera, who is an aspirant for a Congress ticket from the Bawanikhera Assembly constituency in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, the ED teams also raided the residence of INLD leader Ram Bhagat Gupta and a showroom of his son Sanjay Gupta in Hisar today. Though the ED officials did not divulge any details, the raids are being stated to be connected with a matter pertaining to tax evasion.
