Sirsa, September 2
Former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala today took a dig at the BJP, accusing the party of lacking its own candidates and relying on borrowed ones from other parties, including six from the JJP. He described the BJP’s leadership, particularly Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, as being in disarray, comparing him with a “kite without a string.”
Chautala highlighted the indecision within the BJP regarding where its leaders would contest from, adding to the party’s confusion.
Chautala, while talking to mediapersons after a joint meeting of the JJP Political Affairs Committee and Advisory Committee, announced that he would file his nomination for the Uchana Assembly seat on September 5. He said, “Whoever wins Uchana, wins Haryana,” emphasising the strong support he has received from Uchana’s voters in his eight previous elections.
During the meeting, the JJP’s top leaders discussed key points of the party’s manifesto, focusing on critical issues such as a comprehensive debt relief plan for farmers. The plan includes waiving loans and interest from cooperative banks. If the JJP forms the government, they have promised compensation of Rs 25,000 per acre for the damaged crops and propose the implementation of the Jananayak Crop Protection Scheme, under which the government will pay the insurance premiums for farmers.
