The arrest was made on Thursday by the CIA team from Tauru. Sameem, a resident of Bawla village in the Tauru Sadar police station area, had been active in drug trafficking and was wanted in five different drug-related cases.
The in-charge of the CIA team, Inspector Mahender Singh, in charge of the CIA team, Sameem would procure drugs from foreign smugglers and distribute them to local traffickers. This was confirmed by foreign nationals arrested in other drug smuggling cases. Sameem faced charges in seven NDPS cases filed in 2023 and 2024, all registered at the Tauru Sadar and City police stations. Despite the charges, Sameem had been evading arrest.
"Following an operation, we arrested Sameem from his hideout. We seized Rs 9,500 in cash and a mobile phone from him.
