On World Toilet Day, Subhash Chandra, the Chief Executive Officer of the District Council, emphasised the importance of cleanliness in daily life. Speaking at the local panchayat building, he addressed sanitation workers and highlighted how maintaining cleanliness not only kept the environment clean but also ensured good health.

During the event, Chandra took an initiative to inspire everyone by administering an oath of cleanliness. He reminded everyone of Mahatma Gandhi’s vision for a free and clean India, stating that Gandhi’s dream was not just political freedom but also a clean and developed nation. He urged people to serve the country by removing dirt and practicing cleanliness.

Chandra shared a personal commitment to cleanliness, pledging to dedicate 100 hours every year—roughly two hours each week—to cleanliness activities. He emphasised that this mission starts with each individual—at home, in the neighborhood, and at the workplace—and spreads throughout the community.
