Devi Lal, Bhajan Lal clans to fight it out in Fatehabad

Devi Lal and Bhajan Lal clans are set to fight it out in the Fatehabad Assembly segment. INLD-BSP alliance candidate Sunaina Chautala, a ‘bahu’ of Devi Lal clan, will clash with Duda Ram.

Subhash Gorchiya (JJP-ASP) and Kamal Bisla (AAP) are the other prominent candidates.

Sunaina is the daughter-in-law of the late Partap Singh Chautala, a brother of INLD supremo Om Prakash Chautala, while Duda Ram is the nephew of the late CM Bhajan Lal and cousin of senior BJP leader Kuldeep Bishnoi. Duda Ram is sitting BJP MLA from Fatehabad.

The Congress has fielded a former MLA, Balwan Singh Daulatpuria, while Subhash Gorchiya (JJP-ASP) and Kamal Bisla (AAP) are the other prominent candidates.

Sunaina hit headlines in the recent Lok Sabha elections when she, along with her sister-in-law Naina Chautala (mother of former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala), contested the Hisar Lok Sabha elections. The Chautala ‘bahus’ were pitted against their 'sasur' and Haryana minister Ranjit Singh. Incidentally, all three lost, with Congress’ Jai Prakash emerging victorious.

Meanwhile, the party has fielded Surender Lathar from Julana, from where Olympic wrestler Vinesh Phogat (Congress) and Capt Yogesh Bairagi are fighting it out.

The other candidates include Kunal Karan Singh (Tohana), Prakash Bharti (Mulana), Daya Bhadana (Punhana), Tahir Hussain (Nuh), Baldev Singh Warraich (Pehowa), Balwan Balmiki (Nilokheri), Mohammad Habib Habnagar (Ferozeour Jhirka) and Suran Bhan Nara (Israna).
