Devi Lal, Bhajan Lal clans set to fight it out in Fatehabad segment
The Devi Lal and Bhajan Lal clans are set to fight it out in Fatehabad Assembly seat. The INLD-BSP alliance candidate, Sunaina Chautala, a ‘bahu’ of the Devi Lal clan, will clash with Dura Ram from the Bhajan Lal clan.
Sunaina is the daughter-in-law of late Partap Singh Chautala, brother of INLD supremo Om Prakash Chautala, while Dura Ram is the nephew of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal and a cousin of senior BJP leader Kuldeep Bishnoi. Dura Ram is the sitting BJP MLA from Fatehabad.
The Congress has fielded former MLA Balwan Singh Daulatpuria while Subhash Gorchiya (JJP-ASP) and Kamal Bisla (AAP) are other prominent candidates.
Sunaina hit the headlines in the recent Lok Sabha poll when she along with her sister-in-law Naina Chautala (mother of former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala) contested the Hisar Lok Sabha elections. The Chautala ‘bahus’ were pitted against their ‘sasur’ and Haryana minister Ranjit Singh. Incidentally, all three lost elections with Congress’ Jai Prakash winning the polls.
The party has fielded Surender Lathar from Julana, from where Olympic wrestler Vinesh Phogat (Congress) and Capt Yogesh Bairagi are fighting it out.
