Dense fog grips Sirsa
On Thursday morning, dense fog enveloped Sirsa district, making it difficult for people to step outside their homes. Visibility was almost zero in rural areas. Commuters were driving cautiously and slowly on roads and due to the chill, people were seen in warm clothes. Schoolchildren and college students faced difficulty reaching their institutes due to the heavy fog.
The temperature in Sirsa was recorded at a maximum of 22°C and a minimum of 12°C. The fog, however, was welcomed by farmers as the weather is beneficial for wheat and mustard crops. On the downside, the cold has led to an increase in cold and cough patients in both government and private hospitals.
According to the weather department, the minimum temperature could dip below 10°C in the coming days.
Sirsa SP Vikrant Bhushan has urged drivers to be cautious while driving in foggy conditions.
