Dacoity at jewellery shop, FIR registered
The police have registered an FIR against unidentified miscreants for committing dacoity at a jewellery shop in Jagadhri.
On the complaint of Chetan of Guru Arjun Nagar of Jagadhri, a case was registered under Sections 310 (2) 311 of the BNS and 25-54-59 of the Arms Act at the Jagadhri police station, Sector 17, on November 25.
The complainant told the police that he, his elder brother, Shiv Kumar Handa, and their father Inderjeet Singh Handa had been running the shop since 1998 near the ESI hospital in Jagadhri.
He said he and his brother were sitting at the shop on November 25 when four unidentified armed miscreants entered the place at around 7.15 pm.
“All four miscreants were armed with weapons. They pointed their weapons at us. They broke counters and stole gold bangles, diamond rings, tops of gold, chains of gold and lockets of gold from the shop,” the complainant told the police.
He said the miscreants were six in number, four inside the shop and two waiting on two motorcycles outside.
He added that his brother made an attempt to snatch the bag containing the jewellery from one of the miscreants.
“When my brother tried to snatch the bag, a miscreant opened fire at my brother Shiv Kumar, injuring him seriously. He fell and was taken to Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar, for treatment,” the complainant told the police.
