Four passengers were injured after fire broke out in a train near Sampla town of Rohtak district on Monday evening.

A box of crackers kept in a compartment of the Delhi-bound train reportedly led to the incident.

Panic spread among the passengers as the crackers burst and fire broke out in the moving train. The train halted after someone pulled the chain and passengers jumped out from the burning compartment.

Railway officials as well as the Rohtak Superintendent of Police rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation.
