Former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot attacked the BJP government over corruption, inflation and Agniveer Scheme. He said the countdown of the BJP regime in Haryana had begun and the Congress was soon going to come back to power.

Gehlot accompanied by Rajya Sabha MPs — Pramod Tiwari and Manoj Jha— was addressing a poll meeting in Rewari today to appeal to the people for Congress candidate Chiranjeev Rao’s win in the Assembly polls.

He said Chiranjeev’s victory would facilitate the path of development in Rewari as he would definitely get a big post in the Congress government.

“Rahul Gandhi is fighting for the welfare of Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Chiranjeev’s victory will strengthen his hands. The seven guarantees given by the Congress party will benefit the people of the state,” Gehlot added.

Speaking on the occasion, Jha said, “The BJP gives 5-kg ration to those belonging to BPL families but it is not the solution to poverty. Some vital steps are needed to be taken to remove poverty but the BJP has done nothing in this direction in the past decade.”

Tiwari said the BJP government had not only ruined the farmers but also disrespected wrestler daughters and soldiers. “It is high time to take revenge from the BJP by giving their vote to the Congress. Every vote cast for Chiranjeev will be a tribute to those farmers who sacrificed their lives in the farmers’ movement,” he added.

Launching a scathing attack, Swaraj India leader Yogendra Yadav said the BJP did politics of loot, lies and division. Chiranjeev said he could never forget the blessings of the people of Rewari, who sent him to the Assembly in his first election even in adverse circumstances.
