Rohtak cops launch raids to nab bail-jumpers

The district police have launched a manhunt for absconding accused, including bail-jumpers. Under the campaign, raids were conducted to nab the accused in various cases pending before the courts.
As many as 96 absconding accused and bail-jumpers were arrested.
Acting on the directions of Rohtak SP Himanshu Garg, teams comprising officials from the local police stations, CIA, AVT, ANC and PO staff wings conducted raids at the possible hideouts of the accused from 5 am to 12 noon on Sunday.
“Raids were conducted at the hideouts of the accused who were earlier arrested in criminal cases and presented before the courts, including those whose cases are pending before the courts and those who have been released on bail but are not appearing before the court even after the bail period. The courts have issued arrest warrants against such absconding accused,” a police spokesman said.
A list of all such accused was prepared and given to the teams formed as per the police station and area assigned to them. “The district police have succeeded in arresting 96 accused under the special campaign,” he stated.
