Cops foil robbery, kidnapping plot, six gang members held
The police arrested six accomplices of the gang of deceased gangster Ashok Rathi. The police said the suspects were plotting kidnapping and robbery at the Earth Movers Company, as they did not get a reply to their extortion demand. Police officials said they have seized four pistols, a revolver, five magazines, and 35 live cartridges from the possession of the suspects.
The police said a representative of the Earth Movers Company filed a complaint on Wednesday and said their company carried out the work of digging soil at construction sites. The complainant said their company was carrying out basement excavation work on October 5 in Sector 80. They said two youths came to the site in an SUV and introduced themselves as members of the Samudra Deshwal alias Rathi and Dheeraj Nakhdaula gang. They asked the workers to stop digging, demanded money and threatened to kill if they were not paid.
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at the Manesar police station. The police said a special team was formed led by Sub-Inspector Lalit Kumar, head of crime unit, Manesar. The team conducted a raid at the office of the suspect, Dheeraj Nakhdaula, on Wednesday night and arrested the six suspects.
