Congress to bring Metro in Rohtak from Bahadurgarh: Bharat Bhushan Batra
The Congress chief whip and party candidate Bharat Bhushan Batra has promised to bring Metro to Rohtak from Bahadurgarh town if the party comes to power in the state.
Batra was addressing a gathering organised by people of Ravidas Community here on Sunday. Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s wife Asha Hooda was also present on the occasion.
“The BJP is a shop of lies. It never fulfilled any poll promises but worked to grab votes of innocent people by misleading them. Now, the people have known their reality, hence would not believe them and also work to oust it from power,” he added.
Batra, an outgoing MLA, maintained the Hooda government had decorated Rohtak like a dream but the BJP government made it a city of potholes.
“I also met ex-chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and raised the plight of the city before him. I urged him for a grant for the development of Rohtak but he ignored it,” he claimed.
Batra added, “I know what is best for Rohtak and what needs to be done in which part of the city. The work of reconstruction will start as soon as the Congress comes to power.”
Speaking on the occasion, Asha Hooda, while slamming the BJP, said those who forced the residents of Rohtak to drink dirty water were now shedding crocodile tears.
“Don’t get misled by their words. Ravidas Samaj and the Congress have always been together. Whether it is the national or state president of the party, both come from this community. It is not a simple election but a fight to save the constitution,” she added.
