The Congress on Sunday sounded the bugle for Assembly elections by launching ‘Haryana Maange Hisaab’ campaign from Sonepat. Congress state incharge Deepak Babaria exhorted party workers to give one last push to drive out the ruling BJP government.
The campaign was launched at a state-level meeting of the Congress held here today. Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, state Congress president Udai Bhan and Babaria instructed the party leaders and workers to contribute in the campaign.
Babaria said it is the responsibility of every Congressman to take the campaign to every home and person. He advised all leaders and workers to work unitedly along the party line and discipline.
He said the Congress destroyed caste politics of the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. “In the elections, all communities unitedly supported the Congress. In the Assembly elections also, taking all sections along and giving representation to all castes will be the priority of Congress. The Congress will raise the slogan of ‘BJP ko ek dhakka aur do’ in the Assembly elections against the BJP, which talks about changing and abolishing the Constitution,” Babaria said.
Hooda said under the ‘Haryana Maange Hisaab’ campaign, all leaders and workers will expose the misdeeds of the BJP before the public. Along with this, party activists will also make the people aware about the announcements of the Congress and will seek suggestions regarding the party’s manifesto.
“The Congressmen will go among the public and tell that Haryana, which was No. 1 state in the country in per capita income, per capita investment, employment, sportspersons and welfare schemes till 2014, has been made No. 1 by the BJP in unemployment, crime, drug addiction and misery,” he said.
Congress state president Udai Bhan while talking about the campaign presented a chargesheet of 15 questions issued by the Congress against the BJP.
“I and former CM Hooda will organise programmes under the ‘Haryana Mange Hisaab’ campaign in the entire state. At the same time, MP Deepender Hooda will start the campaign from Karnal on July 15. Similarly, all MPs and MLAs will run the campaign in their respective constituencies,” he said.
