Congress MP from Rohtak Deepender Hooda, along with Hisar MP Jaiprakash, Sonepat MP Satpal Brahmachari, Ambala MP Varun Chaudhary and party MLAs, today visited the Khanauri border where farmers have been on sitting on an indefinite fast for the past 24 days.
Hooda said, “The government should immediately accept the farmers' demand for MSP guarantee and end Dallewal's hunger strike. The government should give up its rigid stand, and implement the agreement reached between the government and farmer organisations on December 9, 2021, after the farmers' movement,” he stated.
He said in the agreement reached between the farmers and the government in 2021, the promise of giving legal guarantee by implementing MSP was prominent, but the government had not fulfilled it. “There is restlessness among the farmers of the entire country due to this breach of promise by the government,” he stated, adding that the farmers were once again sitting at the Khanauri and Shambhu borders because the government was not implementing the agreement.
"If 101 farmers want to come to Delhi and put forward their demands, what is the objection? Do they not have the right to go to the country's capital to express their views?” he asked.
