Rewari, August 18
Though the Congress is yet to finalise its candidates for the Assembly poll, Congress MLA Chiranjeev Rao, while showing confidence to get the party ticket, has announced that he will file his nomination papers on September 9.
Addressing party workers at his residence in Model Town locality here, he made the announcement in the presence of his father and former minister Capt Ajay Singh Yadav.
Chiranjeev and four other aspirants have applied to get the Congress ticket from Rewari. “From astrological point of view, my lucky number is nine. My cell phone number consists of seven 9s, my car number is nine and the sum of my house number is also nine. Hence I have decided to file my nomination on September 9” Chiranjeev told The Tribune.
The MLA said he was quite confident about getting the party ticket this time too. “I have toiled hard in the past five years to flag the issues of my constituency not only before the authorities but also in Vidhan Sabha. I raised the issue of AIIMS, potable water, stray cattle, Dharuhera bus stand and untreated water discharge at Masani Barrage area, but the BJP government did not pay any heed towards it,” the sitting MLA added.
Rao said people were troubled by rising inflation, unemployment, and corruption. Youth of Ahirwal had suffered a major setback due to the Agniveer scheme.
Capt Ajay Yadav appealed to the people to ensure the victory of his son by a thumping margin.
