Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, former party leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam lamented the ideological shift within the party and expressed concern for the future of Indian democracy. He said the Congress had left the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and is now following the path of Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

“It is no longer the Congress of Mahatma Gandhi. It is now following the path of Mohammad Ali Jinnah. It is most unfortunate for our country and most unfortunate for our Constitution and democracy,” said Krishnam while interacting with mediapersons on the sideline of ‘Yuva Sanatan Sansad’ in Ved Vidya Sansthan Gurukulam Nalvikhurd in the district on Sunday.

Acharya Krishnam, who was earlier this year expelled from the Congress, emphasised the deep-rooted connection between India and Sanatan Dharma and said, “Anyone born in India is a Sanatani. It is not a question of how he/she worships, but India and Sanatan cannot be separated from each other. One who does not belong to Sanatan cannot belong to India, and one who does not belong to India cannot be part of Sanatan.”

He highlighted that India’s future lies in its spiritual heritage and the country’s direction under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading it towards becoming a Vishwaguru (world leader). He also highlighted the contribution of Maharshi Dayananad Saraswati and advocated him to be honoured with the Bharat Ratna “Maharshi Dayanand’s contributions to society and religion deserve Bharat Ratna,” he said.
