Congress, AAP complain against mass transfers
Chandigarh, August 17
The Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have complained against mass transfer of bureaucrats despite the model code of conduct in force. The state government on August 16 transferred 86 IAS and HCS officers after the announcement of Assembly polls.
In a written complaint, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee said, “This is a clear violation of model code of conduct... this act of the government of Haryana is intentional and wilful in order to gain control over the government machinery...”
AAP Haryana senior vice-president Anurag Dhanda said, “Transfer of officers is illegal. The BJP panicked after seeing the defeat and wants to remain in the election by misusing the administration. AAP demands an inquiry into the transfer of officers. Transfers done after the announcement of elections should be cancelled.” — TNS
