Poor road sense, encroachments and haphazardly parked vehicles are compounding the congestion on roads in the busy markets of Ambala. Vehicles can be seen parked on the roads, and sometimes the drivers keep waiting in the cars, leaving no space for other vehicles to cross. The traffic police should initiate action against such people and provide relief to the commuters. Rajan, Ambala

Power lines too close to houses in Faridabad

Electricity lines passing through residential areas in the close vicinity of houses pose a threat to the lives of residents. The problem stands ignored and unresolved for long. Though complaints are lodged regularly, the department seems to be least worried about taking measures to tackle the issue. While the problem exists in a large number of colonies, it is very serious in Chawla Colony of Ballabgarh, besides Jawahar Colony and Sanjay Colony, which are densely populated areas of the city. Several incidents of electrocution by hanging electricity wires and high-tension cables have resulted in deaths or grievous injuries to the residents. The authorities need to implement a plan immediately to ensure the safety of residents. Rohtash Chahal, Faridabad

Potholed road threat to commuters

A potholed stretch of road near the entry of the railway overbridge on Geeta Bhawan Chowk-Gohana Road poses a threat to commuters. There are huge and deep potholes on the road, which may prove fatal on being filled with rainwater. Several residents and commuters sustain injuries after falling in these potholes. However, the Municipal Corporation and the PWD B&R wing seem to have closed their eyes and failed to redress this issue. The administration should get the problem resolved at the earliest.
