Haryana CM announces ‘Mission 60,000’ to pull people out of poverty

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced “Mission 60,000” to pull out 60,000 poor families of the BPL category in the state. He said employment opportunities would be provided to 60,000 youths hailing from families with an annual income of less than Rs 1.80 lakh.
Addressing a state-level Vivekananda Yuva Mahasammelan on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Khattar said, “Swami Vivekananda serves as an enduring inspiration for all. Over the last nine years, the government has given over 1.10 lakh jobs. No other government even thought of giving jobs with such transparency. Under ‘Mission 60,000’, one person from the family will be given job through Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN) and other private work. The government will provide jobs to 7,500 youths as Van Mitra in the forest department, appoint 15,000 contractual employees through HKRN, provide jobs to 10,000 skilled youths in private factories, and engage 7,500 youths as e-Sewa Mitra.”
The CM said there was no dearth of funds for development but there was an acute shortage of contractors. The government would train 15,000 diploma and degree-holder civil engineers to take up work as contractors. They would be provided loan worth Rs 3 lakh without guarantee and would be able to do works up to Rs 25 lakh, for which they wouldn’t require to give any guarantee and registration.
The CET exam results for Group C and D were in progress. For Group D, 13,500 posts would be filled within the next 15 days. “We aim to provide about 60,000 jobs for both Group C and D within the next few months. Before the model code of conduct comes into effect for the Lok Sabha elections, thousands of jobs will be given,” he claimed.
Expressing concern over the youth adopting “donkey route”, the CM said, “Youths are going abroad through donkey routes with the help of some agents. A lot of damage has already been done. During a Jan Samvad programme at a village in Karnal, I was told about youngsters going abroad through donkey routes. The same families are worried about the whereabouts of their children. The government is signing MoUs with other countries to provide jobs to our youths. Soon MoU will be signed with African countries to send our farmers there for farming.”
Khattar attacked the Congress, saying that, “Corruption, crime and caste-based politics were the contribution of Congress, and we have to get rid of all four Cs.”
Kurukshetra MP and BJP state chief Nayab Singh Saini also addressed the gathering.
