Cloth bags vending machines installed in Gurugram city

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has installed 5 cloth bags vending machines at different locations in the city and 5 more such machines are on the cards.

The motive of the MCG is to help the residents avoid use of single use banned plastic bags.

The machine will operate after inserting a coin of Rs 10, following which, a cloth bag will come out of it. Each bag will withstand a load of approximately 5-6 kg. One machine has the capacity to hold 500 bags.

5 machines have been installed at MCG office Sector 34, Sheetla Mata Mandir, Vyapar Kendra Palam Vihar, Ambience Mall and Suncity Township Sector 54.

More machines will be installed in MGF Mall, Galleria Market, Sushant Vyapar Kendra, Sector14 Market, Railway Station and Aaria Mall

The 5 machines have been installed at MCG office Sector 34, Sheetla Mata Mandir, Vyapar Kendra Palam Vihar, Ambience Mall and Suncity Township Sector 54.

Apart from this, machines will be installed in MGF Mall, Galleria Market, Sushant Vyapar Kendra, Sector14 Market, Railway Station and Aaria Mall, this week.

The Additional Commissioner of MCG Dr Balpreet Singh said the civic body had installed these machines in collaboration with the RSPL Welfare Foundation under the corporate social responsibility initiate.

He said the MCG had also established the state's first cloth bag bank in collaboration with Buland Awaaz Welfare Society in Gurugram on December 14, 2020, in which 35 needy women are earning their livelihood by preparing the cloth bags. The cloth bag bank has distributed more than 20 lakh bags, so far.
