Celebrations in Radaur as MLA Rana gets Cabinet berth
The office of Shyam Singh Rana in Radaur town erupted in celebrations today as he took the oath of office as a Cabinet Minister during a ceremony held in Panchkula. His appointment marks a significant representation for Yamunanagar district in the newly formed Haryana Cabinet.
Shyam Singh Rana, a Rajput leader, previously served as the MLA for Radaur and has a strong political background. In the recent 2024 Assembly elections, he secured victory over three-time MLA and Congress candidate Bishan Lal Saini by a margin of 13,249 votes, garnering 73,117 votes compared to Saini’s 59,868.
Rana’s political journey began in the first term of the BJP government in 2014 when he was elected as an MLA, defeating Indian National Lok Dal candidate Raj Kumar Bubka. He has also held the position of Chief Parliamentary Secretary and served as BJP district president.
Following his swearing-in, BJP workers celebrated his induction into the Council of Ministers by distributing sweets and dancing to drums. Prominent BJP leaders, including Sushil Batra, Dharm Singh Banchal, Raj Kumar Sharma, Pushpender Gurjar, and Devender Saini, expressed pride in Rana’s appointment, highlighting that it is a historic moment for Radaur Assembly constituency, as no one from the area has held a ministerial position in previous governments.
BJP leader Sushil Batra praised Rana for his approachable nature, stating, “Shyam Singh Rana is a public man. This is a very good way for Shyam Singh Rana to connect with the people.”
