Celebrate pollution-free Diwali: KU VC
Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva today flagged off a pollution-free Diwali awareness rally organised by the KU's Senior Secondary Model School on Tuesday.
The awareness rally started from the Vice Chancellor's residence.
While addressing the students, Sachdeva said, “Diwali is a festival of happiness and lights and we should celebrate it with environmental awareness. We all should follow the ideals of Lord Rama's life in our field of work and celebrate this festival with patience.”
The rally passed through various departments and institutes of the university and reached Registrar Sanjeev Sharma's office. The Registrar said, “We should celebrate cracker-free Diwali by keeping the environment around us clean”
School’s vice-chairperson Sunita Dalal emphasised on the benefits of celebrating pollution-free Diwali and said this festival should be celebrated by lighting diyas, which is also considered a symbol of our culture.
As many as 300 students participated in the awareness rally.
