Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, held a farewell ceremony for its former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ajmer Singh Malik, who completed a tenure of nearly four years.

The event, organised by the faculty and non-teaching staff of the university, was attended by Professor Malik’s colleagues, students, and university staff.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Professor Malik expressed gratitude towards the university staff for their unwavering support during his tenure. He emphasised the role of research and development in defining the stature of higher educational institutions. He expressed confidence that the university’s growth and advancements in physical and intellectual infrastructure would ensure a bright future, with students making their mark not only on the national stage but also internationally.

Professor Malik encouraged students to work hard and stay focused to achieve their goals, as he believed that success followed those who were determined. Reflecting on his journey, he shared numerous experiences, stressing that quality education could only be achieved through proper management of educational institutions. He particularly lauded the effective implementation of NEP-2020 at the CDLU, which set new benchmarks in education.

During the ceremony, Dr Rajesh Kumar Bansal, the university’s registrar, outlined the various development initiatives carried out during Professor Malik’s tenure. Professors Suresh Gehlawat and Shailender Singh also praised his contributions to the university’s growth.

Professor Malik’s wife, Usha Malik, was present on the occasion.
