Candidates’ kin lead campaign charge in Panipat, Sonepat
After the filing of nomination papers, family members of candidates have started campaigning with full gusto leaving no stone unturned to woo voters.
Among those who have taken command of campaigning of leaders from different political parties are BJP candidate and sitting MLA Pramod Vij’s son Rahul Vij and wife Neeru; the wife of Congress candidate Varinder Kumar Shah alias Bulle Shah; BJP candidate Mahipal Dhanda’s brother Harpal Dhanda; Congress candidate Surender Panwar’s daughter-in-law Samiksha Panwar
In Panipat City assembly seat Rahul Vij carried out special door-to-door campaign in the Krishan Pura and Tehsil Camp area and appealed to voters to help the BJP form the government for the third time. He claimed that the youth are with the BJP as they got the jobs without ‘parchi and kharchi’ and on the basis of merit only.
In the Panipat Rural seat Harpal Dhanda, elder brother of the sitting MLA and the BJP candidate Mahipal Dhanda, visited Moti Ram colony and Vidyanand Colony to seek votes. Dhanda said that before 2014, living conditions in the colonies was very bad but after the BJP came to power, overall development of all sections of the society was done. The people of Panipat Rural have made up their mind to form the BJP government for the third time in the state, Harpal Dhanda claimed.
Suman Shah, wife of Congress candidate Varinder Kumar Shah alias Bulle Shah, carried out a special door to door campaign in Model Town on Sunday. She along with other women supporters visited the area and appealed voters to vote for her Bulle Shah to bring change. She also heard people’s problems and shared the Congress party’s vision.
Similarly in Sonepat, Samiksha Panwar, daughter-in-law of Congress candidate Surender Panwar is heading the campaign command in the absence of her father-in-law. Samiksha. She carried out campaign programmes in West Ram Nagar, Gopi temple, Shastri Colony, Railway road and other places. She said that the Congress would form the government in the state and development in Sonepat would reach new heights.
