Yamunanagar: In the spirit of reverence and cultural pride, students from various units of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, including NCC Unit, NSS Unit, Rotaract Club and Youth Red Cross came together to celebrate Valmiki Jayanti. The event was held to honour sage Maharishi Valmiki, the revered author of Ramayana, and focused on promoting the values of righteousness, equality and social harmony. Principal Dr Harinder Singh Kang emphasised on the timeless wisdom of the teachings of Maharishi Valmiki. He said the life of Maharishi Valmiki and his contribution to literature and society inspires us to imbibe the values of compassion and justice. It is important for students to follow his example and lead a life dedicated to the betterment of society, he said.

International conference at NIT

Kurukshetra: International Conference on “Future and Recent Advances in Mechanical Engineering” (FRAME-2024) concluded with a valedictory session by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra. The three-day international conference was organised from October 15 to 17 in hybrid mode. More than 165 research papers were submitted in this conference and after the rigorous review process, about 50 research papers were accepted for the final presentation during the three-day conference. Prof Surjit Angra, Prof Vinod Kumar Mittal, Prof P K Saini, Prof Gian Bhusan, and organising secretaries Dr Vikas Kumar, Dr Pankaj Sahlot, Dr Satnam Singh, Dr Dinesh W Rathod, and Dr Ravi Pratap Singh were present during the valedictory session. The Director of NIT Kurukshetra, Prof BV Ramana Reddy, congratulated the staff and students for organising the conference. During this three-day FRAME-24 conference, technical sessions were conducted by eminent academicians and researchers from various national and foreign universities.

Unnati clinches silver medal

Panipat: Unnati, a Class VII student of St Mary's Convent Senior Secondary School, secured second position in taekwondo competition organised by the CBSE North Zone-II. The national-level taekwondo competition was held at Mother India Public School, Bajpur, in Uttarakhand. Participants from different states and four countries took part in this competition. Unnati has participated in four national level, five state level and eight district level competitions, besides winning 11 gold medals and six silver medals. The school management honoured Unnati for her achievement and wished her a bright future.
