Campus Notes: Training on communication, interpersonal skills
Rewari: A seven-day ‘Communication and Interpersonal Skills Training’ started at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, College of Agriculture, Bawal. Naresh Kaushik, Principal, was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of this programme, which will conclude on December 8. A total of 30 students are participating. Kaushik, while addressing students, said in today’s interconnected world, effective communication was no longer just a skill, but a necessity. The coordinators of the programme were Mukesh Kumar, Sonam Kamboj and Parveen Kumar Nimbrayan. During the training, Kamboj spoke on stress management. Nimbrayan gave a lecture on leadership and team management. During this, the students also organised various activities.
Two JMIT teams shortlisted for hackathon grand finale
Yamunanagar: Two teams of Seth Jai Prakash Mukand Lal Institute of Engineering and Technology (JMIT) have been shortlisted for the Smart India Hackathon-2024 grand finale, scheduled to take place on December 11-12. The Smart India Hackathon (SIH), initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a flagship event organised by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell in collaboration with the AICTE and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). It aims at harnessing innovative ideas and technological solutions to tackle real-world challenges. JMIT’s team JM_Tech Avengers will present their solution for the Ministry of Coal, while team JM_CodeCrafters will address challenges for the Ministry of Culture in the grand finale. SK Garg, Director of JMIT, lauded the students for their outstanding achievements and encouraged them to participate actively in such national initiatives. “Our world-class facilities and supportive environment have consistently enabled students to excel in national and international hackathons,” he noted.
Assembly Speaker kalyan for value-based skill education
Karnal: Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan emphasised on value-based skill education as it is the requirement of modern times. He also referred to the students as torch-bearers. Kalyan was chairing the annual function and exhibition of Arya Senior Secondary School in Gharaunda. Rajendra Vidyalankar, OSD to the Governor of Gujarat, also graced the function. The event commenced with a cultural programme by students titled “Aryabhoomi”. The performance captured the essence of India’s rich cultural roots, its glorious heritage and a vision for a bright and golden future. An exhibition displayed a wide array of innovative and thought-provoking projects, highlighting the creativity and imagination of the students. From science models to environmental solutions, each exhibit reflected the hard work and intellectual curiosity of students. The president of the school board, Jagdish Arya, applauded the efforts of the students and expressed gratitude to Harvinder Kalyan and the audience for their unwavering support.
