Yamunanagar: The new academic session was inaugurated with ‘Havan Yagya’ in Seth Jaiprakash Mukandlal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Radaur. On the occasion, like every year, the institute’s director Dr SK Garg, management committee member Pt Gyan Prakash Sharma, Pramod Bansal, institute’s registrar Ankush Singla, heads of all departments, professors and students and parents offered ‘ahootis’ in the Yagya. Garg said Yagya was considered very fruitful for any auspicious work.

Online quiz contest at HCU

Mahendragarh: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the Central University of Haryana (CUH) organised an online quiz contest in which 40 students participated. A total of 50 questions related to the NSS, Independence Day and current affairs were asked in the competition. Ashutosh of BTech electrical engineering department came first, Irfan Ahmed of BTech civil engineering department secured second place and Mohammed Junaid of psychology department came third. Dr Pradeep Kumar, NSS coordinator and Dr Mukesh Upadhyay, Programme officer played an important role in organising this competition.
