Yamunanagar: The computer engineering department of Seth Jai Parkash Polytechnic, Damla, organised a guest lecture on “Cybersecurity: A Necessity in the Digital Era”. The session was conducted by Anup Girdhar, Director, Sedulity Solutions and Technology, New Delhi, an expert in cybersecurity and digital protection strategies. Girdhar delivered a comprehensive lecture that delved into various critical aspects of cybersecurity. He discussed the concept of digital arrests, emphasising the methods and tools used to identify and combat cybercrimes. The session also explored the growing menace of hacking, detailing how hackers exploit vulnerabilities and offering solutions to prevent data breaches. Girdhar highlighted the importance of being vigilant against phishing attacks. The event began with an inspiring message from Principal Anil Kumar, who underscored the significance of such sessions in keeping pace with technological advancements.

Shivam Saini crowned Print Student of the Year-2024

Mahendragarh: The Print “Amrit Dhara” and BR Chaudhary Gold Medal Presentation Ceremony-2024 was organised at the Department of Printing and Packaging Technology at the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh. Shivam Saini, the winner of the Print Student of the Year competition-2024 in the field of printing and packaging, was honoured with BR Chaudhary Gold Medal and a cash prize of Rs 25,000. Prof Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor and chief patron of the event, congratulated the winner and all participants, stating that today’s era was an era of innovation. He emphasised the need for collaboration between the industry and educational institutions so that students could showcase their skills and talents. A total of 88 students from various departments participated in the event.

Rally held on AIDS awareness

Yamunangar: On the occasion of World AIDS Day, the education department of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, organised a rally under the AIDS awareness campaign. Students participated in it with great enthusiasm. The rally was inaugurated by the college’s officiating Principal, Dr Pratima Sharma, by showing the green flag. She congratulated the Education Department for organising the rally. IQAC president Catherine Masih said that it was a serious problem of the world, which needed more attention. The head of the education department, Jagat Singh, while guiding the students, gave important information about AIDS and said that taking precautions against this disease would be their biggest victory. In this rally, various slogans were raised by the students to spread awareness about AIDS. Randeep Singh Jauhar, president of the Managing Committee of the college, praised this rally and said that students should keep organising such awareness campaigns so that a healthy society could be established. Sangeeta Rani, Raju, Ram Kumar, Kamal Kumar Bhardwaj and Ravita Saini of the Education Department played an important role in making this campaign successful.

Film screened on AIDS

Kurukshetra: On the occasion of World AIDS Day, an awareness programme was organised at Dayanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kurukshetra, under the joint aegis of the National Service Scheme, Red Ribbon Club and the Youth Red Cross Society. The main objective of this programme was to provide correct information to students about HIV/AIDS and to educate them on preventive measures. At the beginning of the programme, a film about AIDS was screened for students. Urmila Panghal, officiating Principal of the college, addressed the students. She dispelled the common misconceptions about AIDS and provided correct and scientific information to students. She informed the students about this year’s theme: ‘Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right’.
