Karnal: The IQAC cell of Kumari Vidyavati Anand DAV College for Women, Karnal, organised a one-day interactive workshop on NAAC for enhancement of institutional standards and quality under the guidance of the college principal, Meenu Sharma. The resource person for the workshop was Dr Girdhar Gopal, assistant professor, department of computer science, SD (PG) College, Ambala. The IQAC coordinator of the college, Dr Manju Singh, offered said the college remained committed to the cause of institutional excellence and quality education. The resource person briefed the faculty on the significance of the accreditation process in higher education. The NAAC coordinator of the college said the workshop was organised with the intent of facilitating the college to assess its performance vis-à-vis the set parameters outlined by NAAC through self-introspection and a process that involves space for its proactive participation in the context of NEP 2020. She further added that the NAAC accreditation framework was one of the most coveted grading criteria for aspiring HEIs for performance assessment and transforming them into a centre of excellence and the college was dedicated towards achieving the top-notch grade in its incumbent NAAC accreditation cycle.

e-Campus placement drive

Hisar: Four students of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, (GJUST) have been selected in the e-Campus placement drive of Jhajjar-based Victory Electric Vehicles International Limited, organised by the training and placement cell of the university. While congratulating the selected students, Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice-Chancellor said GJUST through its state-of-the-art courses as well as infrastructure is committed towards providing a skilled workforce for the corporate sector. Prof Vinod Chhokar, Registrar, also congratulated the selected students. Dr Partap Singh, director, placement said 38 students of the department of ME and EEE participated in the drive. He thanked Neha Manurya, HR department, for conducting the drive for university students. He also thanked Prof Punit Katyal and Prof Suman Dahiya, chairpersons along with respective teacher coordinators for preparing the students. Dr Aditya Vir Singh, assistant director, said Harsh Pandey, Mohit Chauhan, Mohd Aamir Anwar and Shekhar had been selected.

JGU signs MoU with Edu Ministry

Sonepat: OP Jindal Global University (JGU) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education as an Institution of Eminence ("IoE"). By virtue of which, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, recognised the JGU as an IoE November 4. As an IoE, the JGU is deemed to be university and is governed by the UGC (institutions of eminence deemed to be universities) Regulations, 2017 and 2021. The JGU is the first university in the state to be recognised as an IoE. The IoE policy, as envisioned by the Government of India, was launched to uphold the commitment of the Government of India to empower universities and higher educational institutions in helping them become world-class teaching and research institutions.
