REWARI: The Indira Gandhi University (IGU) at Meerpur village organised an induction programme for the first-year students. Presiding over the programme, Head of Department Mukesh Kumar welcomed chief guest Vikas Batra, Dean of Social Faculty, who said the purpose of the induction programme was to help the new students joining the course to adjust and feel comfortable in the new academic environment. Prof Tej Pratap said, “Dreams should be big, goals should be high, efforts should be great, only then you can succeed.” He encouraged students to work as hard as possible and be mindful of the rules to maintain the dignity of the university. Simran, a student of Psychology Department, sang a patriotic song. Muskan, a student of the Political Science Department, recited a poem titled Bharat Ki Beti. Dr Anita Yadav of the Psychology Department conducted the stage. Dr Satish informed the students about the scheme and syllabus of Psychology Department. Pawan Kumar of Political Science Department informed the students about their respective departments through various committees of the university like Proctorial Board, Career Counselling, Grievance Redressal Committee, NSS and YRC, Health Sanitation Committee, Sports Committee, Library etc.

Anjali of Arya College tops ku exam

Panipat: The Kurukshetra University declared the result of the fourth semester of BA Mass Communication, in which Anjali, a student of Arya College, secured the first place while Khushi got second place and Sara Khan got the third place, a total of four students got their names registered in the top 10 list. College Principal Jagdish Gupta welcomed the students who made it to the top 10 list on the college premises by feeding them sweets. He said Anjali had secured the first position in the top 10 list of the university by scoring 398 marks out of 500, student Khushi Sharma had secured the second position by scoring 377 marks, Sara Khan had secured the third position by scoring 376 marks and Shobhit Sharma had secured the fifth position in the list by scoring 372 marks.

Yamunanagar students excel in exams

Yamunanagar: The students of MSc Biotechnology (first year) of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, have brought laurels to the institution by securing top positions in the Kurukshetra University examinations. Yashika Gupta secured the first position with an outstanding score of 84.4 per cent, Prachi Saini and Tanu jointly secured the second position with 78 per cent each and Chhavi Gupta achieved the third position with a score of 75 per cent. Sweety Diman secured the fifth position with 74.1 per cent, Sneha Bansal attained the sixth position with 73.7 per cent, Radhika achieved the seventh position with 71.4 per cent, Aditi Rohilla secured the eighth position with 71.2 per cent and Komal attained the ninth position with 67 per cent marks. Dr Harinder Singh Kang, Principal of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, congratulated the students and emphasized the significance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance in achieving academic excellence. He lauded the efforts of the faculty members and the support system at the college that has contributed to these exceptional results. Dr Nidhi Mahendru, Head of the Department of Biotechnology, expressed her pride in the students achievements, highlighting that this success is a testament to the department’s commitment to providing quality education and fostering a culture of academic rigor and innovation.
