Yamunanagar: The Eco Club and Linnaeus Association of Botany at Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, organised an awareness programme on collection, recycling process and the negative impact of e-waste on the environment. The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr Harinder Singh Kang, who made the students aware about the harmful effect of e-waste. Randeep Singh Jauhar, president of Governing Body and Managing Committee, appreciated the efforts of the organisers. Dr Amarjit Singh, convener of the programme, apprised the students of the e-waste collection points established in the college, where they can submit their e-waste. Coordinator Dr Varsha Nigam highlighted the hazardous effects of e-waste on the environment. During this programme, posters were displayed on the college campus to inform the students about e-waste and various collection points. Dr Catherine Masih, Dr Gian Bhushan, Dr Neelam Behl and other faculty members were also present during the event.

Swachhata PakhwaDa organised

Kaithal: National Cadet Corps (NCC) of RKSD College, Kaithal, in collaboration with National Service Scheme (NSS) units organised Swachhata Pakhwada under ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign-2024’ under the aegis of 10 Haryana Battalion, Kurukshetra. The programme started with the welcome address of Principal Sanjay Goyal. He introduced the resourcepersons, Prof Sanjeev Arora and Prof Sohan Lal. Prof Arora delivered a lecture on 'Alternatives of Single use plastic for Environment Conservation'. Winners of the painting competition were Vishal, Nandni Rohilla and Ritika and winners of the waste competition were Manisha, Ritu and Amni, Yachana. The programme was organised under the guidance of NCC officers of the college — Prof Raghbir Lamba, Prof Ritu Kang and, NSS officers — Prof Sanjay Garg and Prof Rajesh Singh.
