Campus notes: Conference on 'Vikasit Bharat'
A national conference-cum-panel discussion on the theme "Vikasit Bharat@2047: Strategies at state-level economies" was organised by the department of economics, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar (GJUST). The event, which aimed at fostering discussions on the path to a developed India by 2047, brought together esteemed scholars, policy makers, and industry leaders to deliberate on key strategies for advancing state-level economies. Dr Arvind Virmani, member of the NITI Aayog, was present as a chief guest of the conference. Virmani said jobs were increasing faster than the population rate. Talking about labour trends, he emphasised that casual labour was among the fastest growing labour in real-wage terms. Along with that he advised "opportunities are there, we have to grab them". Further he enlightened about upcoming terms like 'unbundling of services', 'fragmentation of global economy' etc. Prof Charan Singh, chief executive, E-Grow Foundation, graced the occasion as a guest of honour, shared his wisdom combining both arguments and anecdotes. The conference was inaugurated with a keynote address by Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice-Chancellor of the university emphasised the role of the universities and academic research in crafting policies that could drive sustainable growth across the country.
Three students get placements
Hisar: Three students from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar (GJUST), have secured placements during the on-campus recruitment drive conducted by New Delhi-based Dynotech Instruments Private Limited. The drive was organised by the university's training and placement cell. Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice-Chancellor, congratulated the selected students and said that GJUST was committed to produce a skilled workforce through its cutting-edge courses and modern infrastructure. Prof Vinod Chhokar, Registrar, also extended his best wishes to the selected students. Sudhir Sharma, managing director of the company, highlighted that Dynotech Instruments Private Limited was a leading distributor in the field of laser photonics for scientific and industrial applications. Dr Partap Singh, director, placement, shared that 32 students from the department of electronics & communication engineering (ECE) participated in the placement drive. Dr Singh expressed gratitude to the officials from Dynotech Instruments Private Limited, including Sudhir Sharma, Binu and Gaurav for conducting the drive at GJUST. Dr Aditya Vir Singh, assistant director placement announced that three BTech (ECE) students, including Vaishnavi Singh, Shudhashu Shekhar and Lalit Kumar were successfully selected. The placement drive was efficiently coordinated by Vaishali Mehta, a student of BTech ECE. The successful collaboration reflects GJUST's ongoing efforts to create industry-ready professionals and strengthen ties with leading companies.
Athletics meet at Sainik School
Karnal: The 61st annual athletics meet of Sainik School, Kunjpura, commenced with enthusiasm on Saturday. Brigadier Karnail Singh, an illustrious alumnus of the school and currently serving as Deputy-General Officer Commanding, 40 Artillery Division, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Brigadier Singh inspired the students with his a motivational address. Vice-principal Squadron Leader Manpreet Singh welcomed the chief guest, acknowledging his outstanding achievements and his enduring connection with the school. The first day featured a series of thrilling athletics events, including the 200-metre run, high jump, triple jump, javelin throw, 800-meter run, and 1500-metre run. Each event showcased the dedication, perseverance, and competitive spirit of the cadets.
