Campus Notes: Ayurveda pupils visit medical college
Yamunanagar: Ch Devi Lal College of Ayurveda, Jagadhri, is well known for imparting education in the field of Ayurveda since 2002. Every year, it organises educational tour and field visit for the students. This time the college has chosen MM Medical College, Mullana of Ambala district, for the BAMS students. The students were accompanied by two faculty members Professor Dr Swati Vardhan and Assistant Professor Dr Asha. The student visited the anatomy and physiology museum where they learnt how to preserve bodies, various organs and saw various models and machinery used for laboratory investigation and research purpose. The students were guided by Dr Kirandeep Kaur. The students spent maximum time in the museum. Dr Basant Kumar, principal of Ch Devi Lal College of Ayueveda, thanked the management and staff of MM Medical College, Mullana, on behalf of the college.
SD PG College teams shine in tourney
Panipat: SD PG College (women and men) yoga teams performed brilliantly in the Inter-College Yoga Tournament organised by Kurukshetra University and secured second place in the tournament. In the SD PG College women's team, Bhateri, Priya, Khushi, Sejal, Sangeeta and Ritu performed well and in the men's team, Anil, Gyanendra, Manish, Nagender and Vishal performed well and secured second position winning three gold, two silver and one bronze medals. Six players were selected for the All-India Inter University Tournament, in which Bhateri, Priya, Khushi and Sejal among girls and Anil and Pankaj were selected among boys, respectively. On reaching the college, Dinesh Goyal, Principal Dr Anupam Arora, head of physical education department Professor Sushila Beniwal, Professor Anand, Professor Rudra, Professor Rekha, coach Ankush, groundsman Pratap and staff members welcomed the players and encouraged them.
New chairperson of dept of physics
Hisar: Prof RS Kundu has officially taken charge as the chairperson of the department of physics, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar. Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi conveyed his best wishes to Prof RS Kundu and emphasised the importance of making significant contributions to the department's growth and development. He encouraged Prof. Kundu and his team to submit more research proposals aligned with the latest global research trends. Prof Vinod Chhokar, Registrar, also congratulated and conveyed his best wishes to Prof RS Kundu. He expressed his trust of the university administration and said that he would fulfil the responsibility entrusted to him and try to take the department further ahead. Prof Kundu joined the university in 2005 and is working as Professor since 2017. He has more than 100 research papers to his credit and has attended around 60 international and national conferences. Ten research scholars have completed their PhD degree under his supervision. Prof Kundu has completed many funded research projects successfully.
