Campus notes: Annual Merit Eve celebrated
Pratap Public School celebrated its Annual Merit Eve, a momentous occasion coinciding with the birth centenary of its visionary guiding light, Dr RS Bhatia. Kala Ramachandran, Principal Secretary Tourism and Heritage, Government of Haryana, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Among the esteemed dignitaries were president Ajay Bhatia, vice president Deepika Bhatia and Dr OP Miglani, secretary Sanjay Bhatia, joint secretary Poonam Bhatia, Director-Principal Poonam Navet, Principal Sector 6 branch Dr Puja Waalia Mann and heads of various branches. The highlights of the event included the presentation of the school's annual report, showcasing its remarkable achievements, and the felicitation of nine teachers for their 25 years of dedicated service. Additionally, nearly 100 students were honoured for their exceptional accomplishments in academics, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. A biopic based on Dr Bhatia’s autobiography “Delving into My Past” the centerpiece of the evening, captivated the audience with its engrossing portrayal of his immense contribution to the cause of education, his magnanimity as a philanthropist and the enduring legacy. Ajay Bhatia lauded the concerted efforts put in by the staff and students in paying a befitting tribute to Dr RS Bhatia and expressed pride in the school’s unwavering commitment to excellence and service.
Vocational education event held
Karnal:Budha College of Education, in association with Global Foundation of India, organised a vocational education programme aimed at exploring career opportunities in various fields. The Global Foundation of India founder and chairman Rakesh Sachdeva, General Secretary Kapil Madan, and academic coordinator Lalit Bansal were among the guests. The speakers highlighted the importance of platforms that enable students to continue their education while earning an income. They also discussed the wide range of career prospects available in vocational sectors, emphasising skill development as a key to future success. Dr Mohammad Rizwan, Principal of Budha College of Education, apprised the students of the theme of the programme.
State-level Constitution Day
Kurukshetra: Kurukshetra University is set to organise state-level 'Constitution Day' programme on November 26 at Srimad Bhagawad Gita Sadan (Auditorium) of Kurukshetra University. Constitution Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India on November 26, 1949. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will grace this programme as the chief guest and will address the teachers, researchers and students present in the auditorium. During a conversation, Vice Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva said it was an honour to organise a state-level event on the premises of Kurukshetra University. Prof Sachdeva said more than 40 panels will be the centre of attraction at the exhibition. The exhibition has been divided into four parts — Preamble of the Constitution, Know your Constitution, Creation of the Constitution and Celebrating the Glory of the Constitution. Dean, Students' Welfare, Prof AR Chaudhri said all necessary arrangements have been made for the smooth functioning of this programme.
project ‘Shishu’ organised
Yamunanagar: The Rotaract Club of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, organised project “Shishu” under District 3080 at Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar. District rotaract representative rotaractor Shashank Kaushik said this project is being carried out by the rotaractors of all zones by visiting different places. Rotaractors are meeting new mothers and providing them baby kits free of cost. The president of this project is rotactor Dr Manu Gupta who said that both children and mothers should stay healthy and clean. Rotary Club Yamunanagar Riviera's head Rotarian Sanjeev Sethi encouraged the club and inspired it to keep doing social service in this way.
students shine at khalsa college
Karnal: Nine students from Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Karnal, have brought laurels to their institution by securing top positions in Kurukshetra University's merit list for BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) third and fourth semesters. Principal Shashi Madan said in the third semester, Hitesh secured the first position with 69.5 per cent, Chanchal Chaudhary ranked fifth with 66.8 per cent, Ishnoor stood sixth with 64.1 per cent, Tina was seventh with 60.8 per cent, Harshdeep came eighth with 60.7 per cent, Karan secured the ninth position with 58.5 per cent, and Chanchal earned the tenth spot with 56.2 per cent. The college management committee president, Kanwarjit Singh Prince, congratulated the meritorious students and assured them of full support for their bright endeavours. Adding to the success, students excelled in the BFSI fourth semester as well, with Hitesh achieving first place with 65.3 per cent and Ishnoor securing second place with 62.6 per cent.
